What's this? What's this? A gothic Christmas carol that later became a symbol of scene culture and a surefire way of identifying the real cool kids? God damn right it is! And sure, it's got Christmas in the title and Santa shows up, but it's set in Halloween town and Tim Burton was vaguely attached which places it firmly in the realms of Halloween film and that is why it is our final film of Spooky Month! Join us on a stop motion whirlwind of romance, discovery and music as we drunkenly retell the story that tried to teach us, 'you don't have to change yourself to find happiness' but actually taught us, 'we'll all be happier if wear eyeliner and back-comb our hair and put on chequered, stud belts'. That's right, this week, the Wreckfast Club presents our pinnacle Halloween movie: Nightmare before Christmas!

That's right, we're back with another John Carpenter classic, stalking baby sitters and stabbing anyone who has sex. One thing we've learnt through spooky month is that Halloween is a real virgin friendly holiday. Get ready to hide behind the couch and watch through your fingers as an emotionless psychopath slashes his way through town in a William Shatner mask in the film that sparked a genre and around 600 sequels (number may or may not be accurate) as this week the Wreckfast Club presents: Halloween!

Here we go again, another bloody, formulaic Disney movie. Oh, let me guess, the woman from murder she wrote is a secret witch who is learning spells off the dad from mary Poppins. Yawn! Oh typical, she takes in some refugee kids and turns one of them into a rabbit before using a magic bed to transport them to a cartoon land where they have to organise a football match to distract the king who is a lion in order to steal a spell that will bring fucking thousands of suits of armour to life so that they can single handedly stop the nazis. Boring! And then the witch keeps the refugee kids and for some reason Bruce Forsyth stars as a potential stabber, oh, and they all burst into song and dance at the drop of a hat and have bad Cockney accents. How many times are you going to force that story down our throats, Hollywood? Obviously, I'm being flippant, because this film is utter fucking madness. This week, as part of spooky month, we are doing the film that terrified Mossy as a child because it's an absolute acid dream from start to finish. Get ready to hear every song performed as you've never heard it before as this week the Wreckfast Club presents: Bedknobs and Broomsticks!

All aboard our spooky month bike as we recount a tale of three sisters of salem, hell-bent on sucking the life-force out of children and killing the cat from Sabrina the teenage witch. It's got Bette Middler from show songs, it's got Sarah Jessica Parker from married to Matthew Broderick, it's got a third sister. It's almost certainly not a children's film, it's the Wreckfast Club Presents: Hocus Pocus

It's October which means one thing for us here at Wreckfast Club - that's right, it's our first ever 'spoookkkyy month!' - to celebrate Halloween, we'll be putting out some seasonal favourites all this month and what better way to kick off then with an absolute classic of horror.
