What if Wolverine was forced to play rock-em sock-em robots for 2 hours in order to save his failing relationship with his son and start a relationship with the Wasp from Ant-Man and the Wasp? That's the question EVERYBODY was asking back in 2011 and thank god this film was made to answer us! Today's drunken retelling is a classic underdog story with a sci-fi twist, you'll root for Atom, the little robot with the heart of gold, you'll cry for Hugh Jackman, the deadbeat dad trying to make amends, you'll ask yourself, "when is this film getting a sequel?" - this week, the Wreckfast Club is proud to present, 'Rocky with robots!' - it's 'Real Steel'

#43 - Chicken Run

The chickens are revolting! Welcome to a film where the pitch meeting must have gone something like this, "You know harrowing prisoner of war drama, the Great Escape?" "Yep" "Okay well that, but chickens." "Chickens?" "Yeah, claymation chickens from the makers of Wallace and Gromit, with a cast of some of the most incredible British actors of all time, except of course, we won't see those actors, on account of them being claymation chickens." "Anything else?" "Mel Gibson." "Actual Mel Gibson?" "No, no. Claymation chicken Mel Gibson." "Obviously." "And at one point the farm owners buy a pie making machine and make the chickens into pies." "Oh god, so it's like an eighteen certificate?" "No,no. It's for children." And somehow that film got made and for some reason we all loved it so much that it's even getting a sequel which we can only imagine is an animated chicken retelling of Sophie's Choice meets Schindler's List. Get ready for unbelievable jeopardy, daring escape attempts and classic British humour as this week, the Wreckfast Club presents: Chicken Run!

Heroes Quiz | Bonus Episode

Regular listeners to the podcast will know that we work tirelessly to bring you new and original content every week because we're just so God damn considerate! Get ready for a space-bending, mind warping, sci-fi take on the Manchester spice epidemic of the early 00's! Okay, that last part isn't true but everyone in this film is spiced off their tits. There's big fat, grotesque, flying blokes, there's space witches, there's weird brains floating in tanks and there's more made-up words than you can shake a stick at! This week the Wreckfast Club get drunk and try to unpick the sprawling fantasy epic that could have been: Dune!
