The Suicide Squad | Bonus Episode

Hey there Wreckfasteers! Your favourite film loving drunks are back with a special episode! We've not done this since Tenet!!! So this week we took a little ol' trip to the cinema to watch 'The Suicide Squad'. In the first part of the review we do a completely spoiler free thoughts and feelings summary and then we flag spoilers before coming back to discuss our favourite and least favourite parts of the film. We won't lie, a significant part of the review is a review of the cinema we went to... so if you're interested in that and some ranting about Margot Robbies feet then this is the episode for you!! #75 - Super Mario Bros

Two moustachioed plumbers wind up in Dinohattan where dinosaurs have evolved into mostly human dinosaurs. It's Mario by name but that's where the similarities stop! We say it far too often but this film is honestly mad. Yoshi is an actual dinosaur, the goombas wear suits and have tiny little dinosaur heads and Dennis Hopper with some horns is meant to be Bowser. It's like someone who had never played a Mario game took a load of drugs and explained what they thought Mario was. Also, an old woman gets thrown off a bridge and it might be the most we've ever laughed on an episode. The Wreckfast Club is proud to present, Super Mario Bros

Welcome to a world of espionage, betrayal, high tech gadgets and ultra-cool agents as we take our first step into the franchise that tried to make the 'Impossible Mission Force' sound cool. Wrong lyrics accused of trying to steal and sell a list of names of undercover spies, super top secret agent, Ethan Hunt, vows to clear his name by... stealing and selling the list of names of undercover spies... okay, it's not a water tight plan but between the zip wiring into a vault, crashing a plane inside a tunnel and everyone wearing masks of everyone else's faces you won't have a second to stop and think about it! It's a none stop thrill rife today as the Wreckfast Club presents, the film that started the franchise, Mission Impossible!

#73 - League of Extaordinary Gentlemen

In a world where literary heroes are real, someone decides to bring some of those greatest heroes together into a team in order to stop the phantom of the opera. Sean Connery, Tom Sawyer, Dorian Gray, Dr. Jekyll, Captain Nemo, "AN" Invisible man and a vampire work together to stop the evil phantom in a series of fight scenes, explosions and cool vehicles. It has all the hallmarks of a great film and yet somehow, it was so bad that both the director and Sir Sean Connery quit movies forever as a result. Still, our hosts have drunken fun unpicking the betrayals, the double-crosses and the all round insanity that is; The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

In 2004 the director of the mummy unleashed an action packed homage to the golden age of horror, featuring Huge Jacked-man as a grizzled, monster hunting, fallen angel taking on Mr. Hyde, Frankensteins monster, Dracula and the Wolf-man. It's a veritable kitchen sink of a film that, on paper at least, sounds like it should be the greatest thing ever made. It also featured sultry vampire brides and Kate Beckinsale in a corset. Something about it just struck a chord with a 14 year old Dave, who can say what it was?? Certainly not me.
