#49 : 1 - The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers | Part one

Can you believe this podcast is one year old today?! In the words of beloved poet, Jay-Z, "History in the making! Part two! It's so crazy right now!" And what better way to celebrate this historic event then to return to one of our most beloved series? That's right! Some of you have waited almost an entire year to hear what happened to the little magic boy with a preoccupation with fingering his ring and we're finally here to tell you! When we rejoin Middle Earth, the fellowship is split, war is looming and all hope is lost. This is maybe the grimmest entry in the series, but it's not without it's comedy moments such as; Sam trying to tie knots, Sam saying potatoes in a not-as-funny-as-the-internet-remembers kind of way and of course, the hilarity of Sam engaging in mild rope and choke play with Gollum. In this first part of our two part episode, we discuss Gandalf and the Balrogs sexy, naked whip fight, we tread carefully through the meme minefield and we finally settle the debate around books vs films.
